SEE HOW
THEY RUN
written by Philip King
directed by Jane Buckland.

Once upon a time the trouserless vicar was the
mainstay of British farce. Well the glory days are set to come again at
BLT with this production of Philip King's popular story of mad
clergymen in a Noël Coward setting. The plot is intricate and full
of misunderstandings. Set in the typical English village of
Merton-cum-Middlewick in 1945 it involves multiple mistaken identities
with at various stages, four vicars and a bishop, an uppity maid, her
pretty former-actress mistress and the nosy town frump, who eventually
gets “squiffy” to general delight.
The cast is a mixture of some of our most
experienced comic actors, Sam Barrass (Noises
Off, Stepping Out), Howard Wilson (Cold Comfort Farm, On The Razzle) and some relative newcomers Glenn Aylott and Patrick
Neylan (Noises Off), and Ami Williamson (Once a
Catholic).
If you like your comedy well-crafted, delivered
at a cracking pace and guaranteed to make you laugh and forget fuel
prices, the housing slump and global warming, then buy a ticket,
turn up and sit back ready to be entertained.
